Our Culture

At Heaviland Landscape Management, we believe that in order to satisfy our external customers, we first need to satisfy our internal ones: our employees. Our commitment to employee satisfaction and development stems from a firm belief that our people are our most valuable resource. We allow our Guiding Principles to shape our company culture and we refer to them throughout our daily operations, including when making hiring decisions.

We celebrate birthdays, work anniversaries, babies, weddings and more. In the case of a loss of a family member, Heaviland Landscape Management has established a bereavement fund. We do our best to maintain a healthy work-life balance for our employees and strive for a positive work environment. Because there are multiple office locations, not everyone has an opportunity to interact daily, but we coordinate soccer games among branches and other events to gather as a full team. We believe in open communication and “open book” management and we openly share information that will contribute to an employee’s success.

What We Look For

Heaviland Landscape Management believes that character is more important than talent; if you possess the qualities that we aim to foster within our company, we can train you for specific job skills that you may not have yet.

We appreciate team players, ambition, a willingness to learn and employees that take pride in their work. Possessing a California driver’s license is desired but not required. All employees must be able to lift 50 lbs. and will complete a physical exam upon hiring.

What We Offer

Heaviland Landscape Management invests in the development of our team members through training, education and advancement programs. We offer tuition reimbursement of up to $3,000 per calendar year for approved job-related educational expenses. These include post-graduate studies, certification programs, industry conferences, community college courses and more. We also offer on-site educational programs hosted by industry-recognized providers. For example, Irrigator Tech Training School travels to our branches to provide our crew members the training to become Certified Irrigation Repair Technicians.

In addition to these educational opportunities, we provide a comprehensive benefits package to all employees that includes:

  • Medical, dental and vision care
  • Holiday, sick and vacation pay
  • 401(K) plan with a 2% company match
  • Boot reimbursement program and uniforms
  • Bereavement program
